Helping Organizations That Help Federal Prisoners
A
friend and colleague forwarded me an e-mail from Prisoner Visitation and Support, asking
if I’d post it here. I’m happy to do it:
Attached
is our year-end fund appeal, which we hope you will respond to. 2012
has been a challenging year for PVS. We hired a 3rd Visitor
Recruiter to better cover finding new prison visitors across the U.S. With this
new Recruiter comes the need to increase our income to pay for this person .
Our goal is to double our visitor network. PVS visits in 90 of the federal and
military prisons, but there are still 28 federal prisons and one military
prison where we don’t have any visitors. Please consider making a
year-end donation to PVS. Besides sending us a donation via the mail, you can
also donate to PVS online by going to our website: www.prisonervisitation.org
HAPPY
NEW YEAR!!

P.S.:
If you know of people who might be interested in donating to PVS or in visiting
for PVS, please let us know.
Other
groups meriting consideration for donation dollars (or time) include Families Against Mandatory Minimums (FAMM),
which co-authored the
recent “compassionate release” report and which is fortunate to have a generous donor
who is matching contributions it receives through month’s end
dollar-for-dollar; Citizens United for Rehabilitation
of Errants (C.U.R.E.) and its federal chapter, FedCURE; the
Aleph Institute; and the Prison Legal News (PLN).
